Ceridian Promotes Healthy Workforces by Adding Employee Assistance, Wellness Tools to Current Solutions

Incorporating Employee Assistance Program, Work-Life and Wellness Resources Into Existing Ceridian Services Helps Employers Create a Healthy Workforce and Organization

MINNEAPOLIS (November 01, 2010) – Ceridian US, a leading provider of managed human resource, health and productivity, employee benefits administration, and payroll and tax services, announced today that it will help employers promote healthy and better-performing workforces by incorporating employee assistance support and wellness resources into its current solutions.

Recent Ceridian data shows that offering EAP support and wellness tools are effective in reducing workforce stress and lost productivity. Of more than 30,000 Ceridian EAP participants surveyed last year, more than 80 percent said they were less stressed; 67 percent reported less absenteeism; and 62 percent said they improved their productivity as a result of the program.

The survey also found that EAPs can increase employee retention: 72 percent of respondents said they were now more likely to stay with their companies.

“Employers who add EAP, work-life and wellness tools to their benefits package can trim thousands of dollars from their budget, not only through increased employee engagement, but also through decreased insurance premiums as employees improve their health,” said Dorothea Allen, vice president of marketing for Ceridian Health & Productivity Solutions.

Allen said that also adding to these savings is the increase in HR and management productivity when employers channel employees’ personal problems through their EAP provider instead of through their staff members.
