Workday Plans for Accelerated Growth; Expands Management Team

Mike Stankey, Former PeopleSoft Executive, Named President and Chief Operating Officer

PLEASANTON, CALIF. (September 28, 2009) –

Workday, Inc., the leader in enterprise-class SaaS-based Human Resources (HR) and Financial solutions today expanded its management team as the company accelerates its growth plans for 2010 and beyond. Workday today appointed Mike Stankey as president and chief operating officer (COO). Dave Duffield and Aneel Bhusri are now co-chief executive officers, with Dave also continuing as chairman.

What’s New

* Workday is on track to grow bookings – the measure of contract value over the course of a Workday subscription – more than 50 percent in 2009. The company expects to grow even faster in 2010, as major corporations increasingly choose SaaS alternatives to aging, on-premise ERP systems. Since 2005, Workday has grown to more than 365 employees and has been selected by more than 100 organizations spanning mid-sized businesses to the Fortune 500.
* Dave Duffield and Aneel Bhusri are now co-CEOs, with Dave also continuing as chairman. The two co-founded Workday in 2005.
o Dave will continue as Workday’s chief customer advocate, overseeing the company’s commitment to customer success across all facets of the business.
o Aneel will continue to lead Workday’s business and product strategy along with technology and product development.
* Mike Stankey joins Workday as president and COO and is chartered to lead the company’s global growth across services, finance, and all go-to-market programs including sales, partnerships and marketing. Mike has a proven track record of leading and growing companies in the business applications and technology infrastructure management sectors. Most recently a partner at Greylock Partners, Mike spent five years as chairman and CEO of PolyServe, a storage virtualization software company. Prior to PolyServe, Mike was senior vice president of North American sales for PeopleSoft, driving more than $1 billion in sales and services revenues. During his tenure at PeopleSoft, Mike also held various general management and sales management roles. Mike is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, where he earned a BBA with majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems.
