Ceridian expands time and attendance and scheduling offerings to give employers more ways to utilize their time management data

Already one of the nation’s leading time and attendance providers, Ceridian to launch its ‘next generation’ time and attendance and scheduling solution

MINNEAPOLIS (October 17, 2006) – Ceridian (www.ceridian.com), a leader in human resources outsourcing management solutions, announced today that it is launching a new, fully automated time and attendance and scheduling solution. This new offering will enable employers to complete these processes faster and better, while also developing detailed reports and analyses on employee productivity, absence management and other workforce management issues.

Ceridian’s expanded time and attendance and scheduling offerings can be scaled for small businesses with 100-500 employees, midsize companies with 500-5,000 employees and for employers with more than 5,000 employees. It can help employers more easily achieve their revenue and profitability objectives by delivering stronger staffing tools, spend management processes and labor cost analytics.

From a single application, employers can view on a single screen their employees’ time accounting information, absences and leave balances. They also can access an analytics reporting tool to run reports showing real-time measurements pertaining to hours worked, labor distribution and project management. The ability to create graphical daily, weekly or monthly dashboards also is available to monitor information such as approaching overtime, project hours, scheduled versus worked and job-costing data.

“An employer’s time and attendance data can and should be so much more than an input into the payroll process,” said Sharon Stein, senior vice president of HR/Payroll for Ceridian. “With employers facing increased challenges around employee productivity and absenteeism, they should be, now more than ever, seeking additional and more improved ways to analyze how they are managing their workforce’s schedules and what steps they can take to improve their time management systems and processes.”

Ceridian has formed an alliance with CyberShift, a leading provider of workforce and expense management software and services, to deliver this next generation of time and attendance and scheduling solutions to Ceridian’s target market. The two companies will work in cooperation on the roll-out of this product to Ceridian prospects and customers.

“Many firms have recognized the significant business improvements that can be attained by implementing a fully integrated workforce management solution,” said Robert Farina, chief executive officer of CyberShift. “For organizations having simple to complex requirements, Ceridian now offers tremendous capabilities for unlocking the business value they are striving for. We are pleased to partner with Ceridian to provide these capabilities to their customers.”

Some of the other key features of this new Ceridian solution, which will be available in mid November, will include enterprise time and attendance, labor management, employee scheduling, employee and manager self-service functions, and leave policies. Applications are available in multinational currencies and multiple languages. Reporting and analytical tools also are available. The new solution also helps employers meet compliance obligations under Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70, Sarbanes-Oxley, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employers can subscribe to these applications as a service, or can opt to host this solution internally. The new Ceridian time and attendance and scheduling solution also can be combined with Ceridian’s HR/Payroll Web and Access/SQL solutions; taking advantage of the integration between these powerful applications to enable employers to quickly and easily analyze their employees’ human resources and compensation information in tandem with their labor data.
