Ceridian Mauritius offshore service centre now 200-strong

N/A (October 06, 2006) – Ceridian, one of the largest providers of human resource services in the world, has reached another milestone in its service to global employers and their workforces with the recruitment of its 200th employee at its offshore facility in Mauritius. Set up five years ago, Ceridian’s first service centre has seen the number of employees double in the past year. Globally Ceridian serves more than 25 million employees on behalf of 110,000 businesses and Mauritius has been designed to interface seamlessly with Ceridian’s operations in the UK, the USA and Canada plus supporting multinational payroll outsourcing solutions in 38 countries.

Doug Sawers, managing director of Ceridian in the UK, commented: “This is a significant milestone in our prime goal of developing and delivering HR services for our customers that increase their efficiencies and competitive advantage. Our Mauritius offshore service centre allows us to deliver the same high quality services for less, deliver those services over a larger part of the working day and provide increased business protection by spreading our service delivery over multiple locations. Ensuring consistency of delivery, we adopt a Six Sigma approach to reduce process variation thus reducing cost, improving quality and customer satisfaction.

“Over the past five years, we have made significant investments in our infrastructure in Mauritius and, more importantly, in the well-educated English and French-speaking people we employ there. Developing our people is a key Ceridian value and we are constantly adding to the skills and abilities of our employees in Mauritius and rotating employees from the UK.”

Services delivered by the wholly-owned Mauritius service centre include payroll processing, finance administration, technical support and maintenance, data entry and new product development.

The Republic of Mauritius is a Republic within the Commonwealth and has a population of 1.233 million. It is one of the few bi-lingual countries in the world.
